Meet audio producer Larnie Moles – the first of a mini-series, showcasing the guests behind Solo Arts’ upcoming Audio Cinema night, Tuesday 2nd May 2018.
“I began playing with audio when studying for my BA in Media Production. I instantly found my feet with sound design and collaborated with award winning animators to re-design their animations sound.
From there, Larnie found a passion for scoring sound design in films:
Currently studying an MA in Radio at the University of Sunderland, Larnie has recently delved into audio feature making:
“This year I have begun to explore the world of experimental radio features and documentaries – which is where my work at the Solo Arts’ Audio Cinema event comes from.”
Larnie‘s contribution to Solo Arts’ Audio Cinema night is an engaging exploration that both entwines & juxtaposes the work of MCs, and perhaps the world’s most famous playwright, William Shakespeare.
“It’s a short experimental feature, showing a side by side comparison of Shakespeare and today’s MCs. It begs the question; are today’s MCs the modern-day Shakespeare?
Larnie wishes to a thank her contributors: Dappy of Camden-based grime trio N-Dubz, Adelle Hulsmeier, Senior Lecturer of Performing Arts at the University of Sunderland, MC Bri-Hi, MC Jack Foxx, DJ TORN & Dubble JD.
Larnie’s plans moving forward are to carry on creating music entertainment driven content.
“I am looking to expand this to longer-form pieces, and further to this telling more peoples stories through sound!
My proudest moment so far?… Sitting in studio with Annie Mac and her producer during her live show // interviewing Mampi Swift one of the pioneers of DnB (and arguably the creator of the DOUBLE DROP).
We also asked Larnie what she’s hoping to get out of playing her experimental audio piece at the Audio Cinema event:
“I’d like to meet creative people, as this is my first experimental piece it would be great to know how people perceived it – and also if anyone has a burning story then to speak to them, and see if we could potentially collaborate.”
